  • May 11, 2022: Europlanet Public Engagement Funding Scheme

Europlanet awards grants for projects to engage the public with planetary science. Through the funding scheme, Europlanet aims to encourage new ways of sharing planetary science with different kinds of audiences across Europe (and beyond) to create socially impactful initiatives that combine research, learning, innovation and social development.  The judging panel will be looking for projects that show innovative approaches to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM), societal impact, a commitment to diversity and widening participation, and a potential for sustainability of the project in the medium and long term. 

Deadline for applications: June 15, 2022.

  • April 15, 2021: PlanetaryScience4All EPEC-EPSC video contest - 2nd Edition

The Europlanet Early Career (EPEC) Communication working group is giving all Bachelor's, Master's and PhD students involved in planetary science the opportunity to showcase their research through a 4-minute video contest at this EPSC 2021.

The deadline for submissions is the 1 August 2021. All the submitted videos will be shown during dedicated sessions during the Europlanet Science Congress (EPSC) 2021, which is being held as a virtual meeting from 13 to 24 September 2021. The winner will be announced at the end of the virtual conference.

EPEC is pleased to announce the third edition of its training school for early career scientists who work in the field of planetary/space science and engineering. One of the main objectives of EPEC is to form a strong network of young professionals by organising early-career-relevant events and by engaging in different projects.

  • March 10, 2021: EPEC is pleased to announce the third edition of its training school for early career scientists who work in the field of planetary/space science and engineering.

The school is organised by the Europlanet Early Career (EPEC) network. One of the main objectives of EPEC is to form a strong network of young professionals by organising early-career-relevant events and by engaging in different projects through the nine EPEC Working Groups. The EPEC community aims to bring a young voice into the Europlanet Society to shape the future of planetary and space sciences and engineering. Southeast Europe Hub members are invited to submit activity proposals using the attached template. The proposals should be sent as PDF files by email to : europlanet.phys.uoa@gmail.com 

before the end of April 30, 2021.

The proposals will be evaluated by a committee comprising the six Vice-Chairs, the Policy Officer, the Early Career Officer, the Outreach Officer and the Diversity Officer of the Hub.

The submission deadline is 16 April 2021, but since only applications submitted by a committee or working group of the Europlanet Society will be reviewed, we ask for your applications to be sent to Nantia Moutsouroufi (k_moutsour@hotmail.com) no later than 6 April 2021, to allow some time for the ranking of the proposals by the Hub Committee.
